There is conflicting information about Durban Cookies weed. Some reports claim that unknown breeders crossed the Durban Poison and Girl Scout Cookies strains to make this excellent addition. Others suggest that it has OG Kush genetics. It may be the case that AF Cookies is a phenotype of Girl Scout Cookies, with genetic leanings toward Durban Poison. Whatever the truth is, AF Cookies is an excellent strain to try on any occasion.

As a sativa-dominant hybrid with 70% sativa genetics, AF Cookies offers mostly positive, energizing effects. The strain is a pretty typical sativa in this regard. As the high begins, you will experience uplifting, happy effects. It’s difficult to be sad or tired after smoking AF Cookies, as the impact will free your mind and leave you totally enlightened. AF Cookies offers positive, energizing effects that can give meaning to even the most mundane of afternoons. AF Cookies is best employed as a morning strain. Consider using it as a wake-and-bake to get you going first thing, and to instill a sense of focus that will last throughout the day. Not only will you feel energized, but you’ll also feel focused enough to race through even the most mundane to-do list.  That being said, be aware that, despite all this strain’s excellent qualities, it’s likely to mess up your grinder. The scent of AF Cookies is utterly enticing. The base notes are ones of earth, similar to Durban Poison. However, many of the other tones come from the Girl Scout Cookies side of the family. Overall, the aroma is sweet and has strong hints of vanilla with some undertones of spice. The complexity continues with a few nutty scents and a few noticeable hints of woodiness. Despite all the competing scents, the aroma of AF Cookies is harmonious and delicious, leaving you desperate and chomping at the bit to take that first hit.

AF Cookies has a taste that’s just as pleasant as its aroma. It carries the same strong vanilla hit as the scent, along with mouth-watering nutty undertones. The flavor is very sweet and morish, leaving you wanting more after every toke. Be careful, though, since AF Cookies packs a significant THC content. There are also hints of pine in there on the exhale. It’s quite refreshing, despite the sweetness. All in all, we would say that it tastes more similar to Girl Scout Cookies than it does to Durban Poison. If you have tried any of the GSC strains and enjoyed them, then Durban Cookies is definitely one to add to your list. It’s mouth-watering and sweet, but not overpowering.

As a sativa, AF Cookies is a surprisingly short plant. The buds themselves are spade-shaped and grow relatively large. If they begin to weigh down the plant, consider trellising it to help it stay upright. Although the plant is a relatively ordinary green color, excitement is added by the abundance of gorgeous, bright-orange pistils. The nugs have a furry appearance thanks to these pistils, and there is also a dense layer of trichomes and an almost solid layer of resin. (This is why AF Cookie’s buds are so insanely sticky!). Also, here’s a quick tip if you find your AF Cookies nugs gunking up your $40 grinder: throw it in the freezer for awhile, then shake off the frozen trichomes and chunks of resin (but make sure to add them back into your joint, bowl, or vape later!).

It’s not too tricky to grow AF Cookies at home. AF Cookies seeds grow well both indoors and outside. Indoors, they flower in around 7-9 weeks. Outdoors, the buds will be ready around late-October to early-November. Wherever you grow it, AF Cookies thrives using the Screen of Green method. Using a high amount of light can also help this plant to produce larger buds, which ultimately means higher yields for you. There is a lack of reliable data regarding the CBD content of AF Cookies. However, it’s unlikely to be a lot. Most high-THC strains have very little CBD, so AF Cookies probably has a cannabidiol content of 1% or less.

As always, there are some side effects that come alongside AF Cookies. In particular, this strain is known to cause epic cases of dry mouth. As the most commonly reported side effect of most any strain, however, you can easily prepare yourself by grabbing some water to keep on hand while you smoke or vape. Dry eyes are also experienced relatively often, as they are with most cannabis strains. In a few minor cases, users have experienced paranoia as a result of the strain’s high THC content.
